Rather, it summaries your strengths in each of your major skills so that the recruiter will have a quick view of your potential for his client. Often times, recruiters use these brief summaries to pitch the candidate to clients companies.

Cover letters should be:

1. Short, to the point.
2. Not full of elaborate descriptions. Rather precise skills, best with some data that backs them up.
3. Interesting.
4. Clear as to what you want to communicate. No ambiguities.
5. Truthful.
6. Perfect English.
