The Situation

Our client has enjoyed significant and profitable growth over a sustained period of time. Further growth in sales while maintaining or increasing that level of profitability requires a dedicated sales professional, a role currently being filled by the founder/President of the firm.

This new role will report directly to the President. It is a role where the ongoing success of the company and the professional success of the individual are clearly tied together.

The Position

This position will be accountable for substantially contributing to increasing the total sales volume of the company, with almost exclusive focus on developing new customers and new territories consistent with the longer-term goals of the organization. Success depends a great deal on: objectively qualifying opportunities, managing the pipeline, getting and pursuing leads, and building relationships to let the sale happen.

The Vertex philosophy is to design quality software products that meet the needs of Community Rehabilitation and Workforce Development programs, and to back those products with quality service and ongoing software development.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated significant competence in consultative sales, committed to solutions-based sales methodologies. This will be a person who is comfortable and effective at pursuing long-term sales cycle opportunities. He or she will have a record of working interactively with the prospective customer to identify the customer's needs, possible obstacles and issues, developing strategies and alternatives to work through them, consistently seeking to move the process forward, resulting in the sale of an integrated solution.

This individual will have been particularly effective at developing new prospects to expand the customer base. A person who is well-grounded in system-wide, integrated software applications addressing all functions and departments of the organization is particularly desired.

While this is a relatively small organization (20 employees), it has the capacity and resources to fuel significant growth. Its current size will permit the right individual to directly and visibly contribute to the success of the company while enjoying the personal and professional rewards of sharing in that success.

The Compensation

The total compensation package (to include cash components of salary, commission and bonuses) will be competitive with the marketplace, and commensurate with the experience of the successful candidate.
