Assistant Controller - Accounting Policy

The Situation

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller - Accounting Policy, at its corporate headquarters in the Los Angeles, CA area. This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic individual who is focused on making significant contributions to a world-class organization.

The Position

The Assistant Controller will report to the Corporate Controller with overall accountability for the organization's accounting policies and procedures. As a strategic partner with the CFOas well as with corporate and operating segment financial management, the Assistant Controller will engage in complex accounting analyses for current and future business opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a high-potential technical accounting professional, skilled in corporate complex accounting for mergers and acquisitions. He or she will have a BS/BA degree, or equivalent experience, in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, and a CPA. An MBA is strongly desired. Additionally, the successful candidate will have worked for oneof the "Big 4" public accounting firms for at least seven years. Demonstrated ability to research new and proposed accounting standards, and determining how the organization will account for and disclose those standards is essential. Must also be able to effectively interact with all levels of management including corporate executives. Strong problem-solving, oral and written communication, and presentation skills are also required.
