The Situation

Spacient® Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise technology and mobile computing solutions for government and utilities, is currently seeking a Software Developer for the Engineering and Technology Group.
Founded by industry business and information technology executives, Spacient fulfills the industry need for integrated mobile geographic information system (GIS) and field service solutions in organizations with large mobile workforces.

The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering and Technology, the Software Developer will assist in the development of Spacient's Fieldport® software. Fieldport® is an enterprise mobile and web-based application for the management of utility field operations and includes numerous modules for specific functionality.
The Software Developer will provide support and on-going development of existing implementationsas well as the core Fieldport® software. Other tasks may include testing, data preparation, mobile device installation and configuration, support, and web graphics preparation.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have 2 - 4 years of technical experience and a Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience; programming experience in web-based information systems using Microsoft technologies, (ASP.NET, C#.NET); experience developing applications within a SQL-compliant relational database system (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle); working knowledge of stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers, constraints, indexes, etc; extensive knowledge of HTML,JavaScript, CSS, XML; experience with UML-based methods and common programming patterns and practices.
