The Situation

Spacient® Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise technology and mobile computing solutions for government and utilities, is currently seeking a GIS Developer for the Engineering and Technology Group.

Founded by industry business and information technology executives, Spacient fulfills the industry need for integrated mobile geographic information system (GIS) and field service solutions in organizations with large mobile workforces.

The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering and Technology, the GIS Developer will assist in the development of Spacient's Fieldport® software. Fieldport® is an enterprise mobile and web-based application for the management of utility field operations and includes numerous modules for specific functionality.

GIS Developer will provide support and on-going development of existing implementations as well as the core Fieldport® software. Other tasks may include testing, data preparation, mobile device installation and configuration, support, and web graphics preparation.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of technical experience and a Bachelors degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience; knowledge of GIS principles, concepts and techniques; experience in enterprise GIS application development, analysis, and implementation; in-depth working knowledge of ESRI's main GIS components, products, and platforms; programming experience with Microsoft technologies, (ASP.NET, C#.NET, VB.NET); experience developing applications within a SQL-compliant relational database system; working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML; experience in GIS database modeling and dataset migration; experience using AutoCAD.
