The Situation

The Energy Systems Development Center develops advanced technology prototype and pre-production energy systems with significantly improved efficiency and performance in stationary power, transportation, industrial and aerospace applications.

Based on their continued growth, AeroVironment is looking for 2 experienced Electrical Engineers for their Energy Systems Development Center.

The Position

The Electrical Engineer will develop a variety of power electronics systems from early stages of the design through final testing and manufacturing support. Will involve analysis, design, component evaluation and selection, and lab/field testing of prototype and/or production units.

Experience with distributed generation and/or electric vehicles considered a plus.

The Ideal Candidate

Will have a BSEE or equivalent and 5+ years of experience. Will be well versed in design issues of DC/AC, DC/DC and AC/DC power conversions at low, medium, and high power voltage levels.

Familiarity with both AC and DC motors, feedback control theory employing both analog and digital components and with computer analysis tools such as MatLab with the ability to write C code for embedded software is desirable.
